Savannah Fund

Savannah Fund is a seed capital fund specializing in US$25,000-US$500,000 investments in early stage high growth technology (web and mobile) startups in sub-Saharan Africa. Initially focused on East Africa, the fund aims to bridge the early stage/angel and venture capital investment gap that currently exists in Africa.


The iHub catalyses the growth of the Kenyan tech community by connecting people, supporting startups, and surfacing information. Providing a part open community space, a part vector for investors and VCs, and part incubator. This is a vibrant and collaborative environment for innovators and startups to think through their ideas, and develop their solutions, lowering the barriers to entry for many young would-be entrepreneurs.


m:Lab East Africa

m:lab East Africa is a consortium of four organizations aiming to be a leader in identifying, nurturing and helping to build sustainable enterprises in the knowledge economy. The consortium members and their roles are :-

  • eMobilis, Education, training, accredition and certification.
  • World Wide Web Foundation– curriculum and content, training and Education
  • The University of NairobiSchool of Computing and Informatics for rigorous academic research
  • iHubfor community interaction, development space, events and access to capital and markets

The consortium’s mission is “to facilitate demand-driven innovation by regional entrepreneurs, ensuring that breakthrough low-cost, high-value mobile solutions can be developed and scaled-up into sustainable businesses that address social needs”.



GrowthAfrica’s creates programmes tailored to the reality and needs of African startups. Methodology and programme content are continuously being developed and enhanced to give you world class acceleration.

C4D Lab

C4DLab is a prototyping and innovative startup incubation lab at the School of Computing & Informatics, University of Nairobi. This lab was founded in 2013, as the first phase of a bigger complex CC4D (Center of Computing for Development) to be built at the school. The lab works with the entire university community, with a reach to a community of more than 70,000 people, including faculty, students, staff and alumni.



AkiraChix is a not for profit organisation that aims to inspire and develop a successful force of women in technology who will change Africa’s future.Founded in April 2010, AkiraChix aims to be the leading women’s network impacting technology in Africa. It’s programs are developed to reach young women at different levels, those in Primary School, High School and University, those working in technology and those who wish to have a career in technology, making it an effectively wholesome program

LakeHub is a technology innovation hub in Kisumu, open space for entrepreneurs, technologists, investors and makers


iBiz Africa

@iBizAfrica business incubator carries out the Entrepreneurship and Incubation theme of @iLabAfrica. @iBizAfrica seeks to provide a nurturing environment that builds on the potential of the youth to develop ICT solutions and businesses that work for the common good in society.


iLab Africa

@iLabAfrica is a Centre of Excellence in ICT innovation and Development based at Strathmore University. It was established to address the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and to contribute toward Kenya’s Vision 2030. The research center is involved in interdisciplinary research, students’ engagement, collaboration with government, industry and other funding agencies.


FabLab Nairobi
